Private Event
Blacksmith's hammer-in and Campout at Waterloo Farm Museum
Noon- Friday September 1st -Sunday September 3rd
Waterloo Farm Museum
13493 Waterloo-Munith Rd, Grass Lake MI 49240
Calling all blacksmiths, metalsmiths, and those interested in metalwork. Please join us at a hammer-in at the Waterloo Farm Museum. This is not a public demo, the grounds are open just for us. There is no cost to attend this event or rustic camp, though donations to the museum are strongly encouraged. All levels welcome, from complete novice to expert. Just bring what you have! If you would be willing to teach a class/workshop, please let us know.
Rustic camping space available (and encouraged). Bring a cooler, a dish to pass for the Saturday night potluck, coal or propane, steel, and equipment (if you have it). A popup for your work area is highly recommended. There will be an Iron in the Hat raffle** to benefit the museum. Theme to be decided (please do your best to create something within the theme to donate to the raffle, for those new to the concept). Please consider creating items to donate to the gift shop as well! The museum is a volunteer run nonprofit and it is a good way to give back to the site.
**NOTE: Only Michigan residents are able to purchase raffle tickets. **
Saturday June 24th and Sunday June 25th from 10AM to 5PM
Waterloo Farm Museum
13493 Waterloo Munith Rd.
Grass Lake, Mi 49240
Demonstrators (and visitors) wanted to join the crew at this public event at a historical museum. All levels welcome. Please bring any gear, a way to rope off your work area, and your own steel. A pop-up shade is highly recommended. Please come early to setup.
Attempt at historical dress encouraged but not required. Rustic camping is available for those who would like to stay overnight--behind the barns for modern setups or in the work area for historical tents.
